Quick Update & Good News

I will have a Cinema 4D quick tip up this week and I just bought a Canon 550D so I can go out and shoot my own footage for tutorials and the occasional short film:).

My first video test with T2i.  Get ready for some fun tutorials!

    Hey,
very cool Clip! How did you do the Light effects?

Thanks Conrad. I used stock footage and Optical Flares.

Nice looking footage. I’ve been considering the 60D or 7D, but looking at your footage I don’t know if it’s worth the extra cash.

Would you consider doing a quick tut on how you achieved the light leak effect on the one shot in the alley? The few tuts I’ve seen did not have very good results. Yours was very convincing.

    Thanks for posting.

Hi Vince, thanks for the comment. Video wise the 7D, 60D and T2i(550D) are pretty much identical. The 60D has better audio control and a swivel screen.

A tutorial on it is very possible. I’ll see what I can do :).

    Looks great!

I just got a Canon 550D too and seeing your test shots is a big kick up my behind to go shoot some video with it.

I’m a Cinema 4D user – and have finally started to use the SynthEyes licence I have had/upgraded for years – so I’ll defiantly be keeping an eye on this blog for some tips.

Normally I use a Panasonic HDC-HS9 for my tests because it’s CCD – Guess I’ll have to test how much trouble the CMOS / rolling shutter of the 550D will cause. Here is some of my tracking tests using the HDC-HS9, SynthEyes and Cinema 4D.

Svend, thanks a lot for the kind words. I’ll have a SynthEyes/C4D tutorial up soon but it will be using RED footage. In the near future I’ll certainly have some T2i/550D tracking tutorials as well.

      Nice tests :).

Its gonna be a few days.. Cinema 4D’s render time is slow right now. I can’t wait to see your next quick tip! Hoping for the best!

@Sam Yeah, the T2i/550D is a great little camera.
