Tutorial 02: V-Ray Proxy, Cinema 4D Dynamics, MoGraph & Thinking Particles.
I’m pretty to new to V-ray for Cinema 4D but I’m starting to feel the power of it
. Yesterday, I was playing around with the Vray Prox Mesh inside of C4D for the first time. It’s very powerful but has some limitations inside of C4D. Mainly I found it doesn’t obey collisions but in this tutorial I show you a work around and I show you how to use a Vray Proxy Mesh with Thinking Particles and MoGraph at the same time. I hope it’s useful. More Vray tutorials in the very near future and don’t worry Winter’s Blob tutorials are coming.

Thats interesting. Thanks for explaininig Josh.
So in the end the Vray Proxy Mesh replaces the “Render Instances” funktion inside the cloner?
Welcome. Yep, that’s pretty much the idea.
Thanks for this. I just got V-ray4C4d about a week ago was also surprised at how little is out there for getting up and running for motion graphics. Looking very forward to whatever you can offer.
Oh yeah, …and if you come up with some little V-ray tip and think to yourself, “Well, that’s kinda dumb… everyone probably knows that already,” please don’t hesitate to throw it out there anyway, ‘cuz this V-ray stuff is nowhere near as “plug and play” as I’d been led to believe.
